Custom Co-Pak, one of the largest tea packaging companies on the East Coast, was established in 1996 in a small 12,000 square foot facility in Philadelphia. In 2001, the company moved to a 60,000 square foot facility a short distance away where it is located today. The company has a large variety of tea-bagging machines and equipment to handle virtually all tea and tea bagging projects and presently operates with a work force of about 30.
This family-owned business is managed by partners Len Szyper Sr., Len Szyper Jr. and Mike Medvidik. Len Sr., the managing partner and founder, has over 45 years of experience in the tea and coffee industries.
He has built the company from the ground up with an emphasis on quality and innovation. Len Jr. and Mike manage day to day operations and administration, respectively, constantly fine-tuning the operation to achieve ongoing improvements in cost and efficiency. State-of-the-art equipment is utilized to produce the finest quality tea bags available.
The company is operated under Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP and maintains all licenses and certifications.

The MD20 is a machine which produces double chamber filter bags with thread and tag using the most recent technology to fix the thread to the bag with a sewn knot (Teamac patented system). The filter bag produced by this machine is as ecological as possible for dosing products for infusions. The Teamac bag provides tea, herbs and tisanes with the ideal environment for correct and healthy infusion, since they are only in contact with natural materials: the filter paper is not heat-sealable, therefore no type of glue has been added to it, the thread is made of natural cotton and the innovative method for fixing the thread does not use metal staples or adhesives.
The cotton thread is sewn onto the bag with a robust double knot which guarantees excellent hold and strength and perfectly closes the top of the bag.
